FAQ

Why should I book with Language Travel Ireland?

LTI is the only Irish organisation offering this unique English language experience.  We believe we are better because we are Irish and we know Ireland, it’s that simple!  We don’t offer countries and destinations where we have never been to ourselves, as is the case with other companies and agents in Europe.  Our English courses include one-to-one intensive private English lessons from your own teacher.  You will receive a unique experience of Irish family life and culture in the friendliest country in the world.   Back to Top

What is included in my course?

The course fee payable to LTI includes; full board and accommodation in your own room, private English lessons for the number of hours selected, English level test, one free outing with the teacher, use of books and course materials and a certificate of attendance at the end of the course.  Please note that flights to and from Ireland are not included in the price.  Transfers from and to the airport are not included in the basic price.  If you require a transfer, you need to add this to your booking.   Back to Top

Where in Ireland are the English courses available?

We have several destinations in Ireland to choose from.  You can learn English in the Dublin, Galway, Cork or Limerick regions. Back to Top

Is there anything I should do before I arrive?

It is a good idea to email or write to your teacher to introduce yourself and to tell him/her a little about yourself.  This will help the teacher to design an English course that is best suited to your needs and requirements.    Back to Top

Do I need to bring anything with me to Ireland?

Please bring all relevant study materials and books with you so you can discuss them with the teacher.  It is also important that you bring a good dictionary.  It is also a good idea to bring some warm clothes including some rain gear.  Towels will be provided by your host family.    Back to Top

What happens when I arrive in Ireland?

If you have booked a transfer from the airport, then your host family will meet you at the arrivals.  You will be guaranteed a warm Irish welcome and the family will do their best to make you feel at home and part of their family.  If you are making your own way from the airport to your host family, it is a good idea to contact the family in advance to let them know what time you will be arriving.   Back to Top

What is the cancellation policy and do I need travel insurance?

No refunds will be given for cancellation, accident, illness, loss of property or for any other reason. In the event of a legitimate medical or travel emergency, your course fee is protected as LTI automatically subscribes all students to a comprehensive medical and travel insurance called Studentguard+. The cost is included in your course fee. Please contact us for more information. Terms and conditions apply.   Back to Top

What if I have a problem while in Ireland?

Every area is supervised by a resident Local Organiser whose job it is to monitor the progress of each student and to make sure his experience with us is both happy and successful. A phone call to our Local Organiser brings an immediate response and expert help and advice is given readily for even the smallest problem.   Back to Top

What are the qualifications of the English teachers?

All our teachers have either a teaching certificate “Recognised by the State” or a University Degree (or equivalent) accepted by the private sector. In addition they have all been awarded the Trinity Certificate which means that the qualifications have been verified and the teachers’ homes have been thoroughly inspected by the local organiser.   Back to Top

When are the dates of your English courses?

You can choose the dates which suit you as we operate all the year round. There is no "peak period" when you will be surrounded by other students because there is never more than one student living with the same teacher (unless you prefer our two student formula).    Back to Top

Are the English courses suitable for adults?

Our lessons are suitable for all ages.  There is no longer any need for the mature student to feel shy or nervous in a large class of differing ages and abilities.  Last year our youngest student was 14 years old and our oldest was 56 years old.  We always try to match the student with a suitable host family according to age and learning requirements.   Back to Top

When should I make my travel arrangements?

We strongly recommend that you check with your travel company to make sure that there is availability before making a booking for a course. Once we have confirmed availability in writing you should arrange to pay a €200 course deposit and immediately make your travel arrangements.   Back to Top
